UMB Bank was ready to update their work environment to cater to a younger workforce. In addition to attracting and retaining employees, they wanted to use their floorplan more efficiently. To achieve the goals of this bank project, we added more collaborative spaces, implemented an open floorplan and used a progressive color scheme.
FSI has a longstanding history with UMB; the architect, Bell/Knot & Associates; and the general contractor, McCownGordon, so we were brought on early to help outline the budget and update it as the design changed. We continued to make plan changes as needed, maintaining pricing information all the way through construction.
Our team worked closely with McCownGordon through all five phases of this large-scale project. Together, we installed over 1,000 linear feet of custom Muraflex Mimo and Expo walls. These wall systems and the design helped to create an open, collaborative aesthetic for the office.
Open concept offices often come with acoustical concerns. To combat that, we worked with McCownGordon on adding custom Zintra acoustic panels to UMB. In addition to these architectural products, we also installed MechoShades and custom window film, as well as a new hand railing system.
As part of the renovation, UMB added cafés and breakrooms, as well as both collaborative and private meeting spaces. FSI helped UMB plan and select furniture for the new and existing spaces in partnership with John A. Marshall Co.
This project is a great example of how FSI can act as a one-stop shop. To help UMB Bank achieve their goals, we handled the furniture planning and procurement, as well as the order and installation of multiple architectural products.
